Galvanized Chain Wheel

Particularly harsh operating environments sometimes require an extra level of protection for chain wheels. Many chain wheels are used in the petrochemical industry, and are exposed to chemicals, extreme temperature or humidity. Under these circumstances, we offer galvanized chain wheels to extend the life of the product in corrosive environments.

Galvanizing is also ideal for high moisture environments (such as marine or offshore applications) where corrosion resistance is important. Our entire CL Series line of chain wheels is available in galvanized, as well as the C30 and C40.

CAUTION:

  1. Whenever a chain wheel is installed, provision must be made to keep the VALVE HAND WHEEL RETAINING NUT FROM BACKING OFF THE STEM! This is best done by installing a SET SCREW that secures the nut to the stem.
  2. All chain wheel installations, regardless of age, must be regularly inspected as part of the user’s Safety/Maintenance procedures. Set screws and other threaded fasteners MUST be secure and tight.
  3. As an additional safeguard, Roto Hammer strongly recommends that ALL chain wheels be fitted with an appropriately sized ROTO HAMMER RETAINING CABLE SAFETY KIT available from H N Supplies.
  4. Maintain Handwheel and Operator – Retention of the chain wheel operator on valve stem is dependent on the handwheel remaining on the valve stem. The handwheel retaining nut MUST be secured with a set screw.
